3751 | Xbeeriment Black Force One Bourbon Barrel Edition | Denmark | Imperial Stout | 4.5
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9 Shared bottle at local tasting. Bottle No. 49 out of 374 made. 10.4% ABV, 98 IBU. Pitch black colour, large to moderate tan head. Lovely aroma of bourbon cask, vanilla, coffee and chocolate. Excellent flavour, same elements as the aroma, but even more harmonious and well balanced. |

3752 | Wold Top Against The Grain Export Strength | United Kingdom | Bitter | 2.6
Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 500 ml bottle, gluten free, new at Vinmonopolet. Export Strength - ABV is 4.8%. Golden colour, lagerish carbonation, but the white head is low. Sweetish fruity aroma, also notes of maize (corn). Lagerish mouthfeel, light bodied. Medium sweet flavour, maize and a little fruit, ending in a sharp and rather unpleasant bitterness. Little hop flavour besides the bitterness. As I don’t suffer from coeliac disease, this is not a beer I will buy again. |

3753 | Left Hand Stranger Pale Ale | United States | American Pale Ale | 3.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 Small sample, on tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Deep golden colour, large head. Lovely hoppy and spicy aroma and flavour - an excellent beer, as far as I could tell. Will rerate as soon as I get a bigger sample (had to drive tonight). |

3754 | Greens Bottle Refermented Blonde Ale | Belgium | Belgian Ale | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml bottle, as Green’s Bottle Refermented Blonde Ale, new at Vinmonopolet. Gluten free beer (no special grains, only de-glutenised barley). ABV is 5.8%. Very pale yellow colour, slightly hazy. Huge white head. Strong "wheaty" aroma (though the beer contains no wheat) of cloves, coriander and ripe bananas. High level of carbonation, even in the mouth. The flavour is rather sweet, fruity and spicy, again with notes of cloves and coriander. Not bad for a gluten free. |

3755 | Diabolici | Belgium | Abbey Tripel | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 750 ml corked bottle, new at Vinmonopolet, as Diabolici, "brewed in BeNeLux for Anthony Martin". Note that it is brewed FOR them, and not BY them, so who the actual brewers are, remains to be investigated. ABV is 8%. This is closer to a tripel, and definitely not a dubbel. Golden colour, huge white head. Moderately spicy aroma, maybe somewhat less sweetish than your average tripel. The flavour is distinctly spicy, with some kandij sugar and a little caramel, but not too sweet. The alcohol is noticeable, but not overwhelming. A quite decent Belgian, but isn’t the idea of another "diabolic" beer name a bit worn out now? |

3756 | Meantime Wheat | United Kingdom | Hefeweizen | 2.9
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 330 ml bottle, as Meantime Wheat, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. ABV is 5.0%. Cloudy golden colour, huge and lasting white head. Spicy aroma, notes of cloves and dust, hints of banana. Citrussy / lemony flavour, bordering on "sour", just a hint of cloves. No detectable hops. Sorry, but the Germans do this better. |

3757 | M. Busto Sidra Natural Asturiana | Spain | Cider | 3.4
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 700 ml corked (but not caged / wired) green bottle, bought in Spain. ABV is 6%. A little sediment in the botttle, some floaties. Pale golden colour, minimal carbonation (this is nearly a still cider), no head. Strong and pleasant aroma of fresh fruit and oxidised cider apples, a hint of oak and sulphites. The flavour is medium dry, oxidised cider apples again, notes of oak and sulphites. Very drinkable. |

Moderate aroma of dark / roasted malts and ice coffee, a hint of dark chocolate. Soft, dry and quite drinkable flavour, notes of black malts and mild coffee, hints of dark chocolate and ashes. Nothing exceptional here, but okay. Won’t buy again though. |

3761 | Roman Sloeber | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml stubby bottle, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. ABV is 7.5%. Pale golden colour, slightly hazy in the end, huge white head. Aroma of grassy hops and mild spices. The flavour is quite refreshing for its strength, not too sweet, some fruity notes and mild spices again, moderate hops in the finish. Fairly decent beer, might buy again - but a slight metallicness in the aftertaste makes me uncertain about that. |

3762 | Nørrebro Bryghus Ceske Böhmer | Denmark | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. "Økologisk" / organic. ABV is 5.0%. Deep golden colour, large white head. Typical Czech pilsener aroma of grassy and floral Saaz hops. The flavour has also decent Saaz hops throughout, on a sufficient malty background, with just a faint hint of caramel. |

3763 | Schneider Weisse Tap 3: Alkoholfrei | Germany | Reduced Alcohol | 2.3
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 3 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 500 ml bottle, as Schneider Weisse Tap 3 Mein Alkoholfreies, from MENY Stadionparken. Hazy brownish golden colour, huge off-white head. The aroma has some of the usual n/a beer character of baby porridge and over-boiled vegetables, but also some wheaty notes with hints of cloves and citrus. Thin mouthfeel. Dry flavour with some hints of citrus - boring and uninteresting, but if you need a n/a beer, it is not undrinkable. |

3764 | Adriaen Brouwer Dark Gold | Belgium | Belgian Strong Ale | 3.6
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 330 ml stubby bottle, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. ABV is 8.5%. Brown colour, huge beige head. High (too high) level of carbonation, even in the mouth. Fairly strong aroma, very much a "typical Belgian dubbel": notes of brown malts, caramel, brown kandij sugar and mild spices. The flavour has the same elements as the aroma, but is not too sweet. The hops are very moderate, I’d like some more. Still a decent and drinkable beer as it is. |

3765 | LoverBeer Marchè 'l Re | Italy | Imperial Stout | 4.2
Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 375 ml dark green bottle, vintage 2009, from Vinmonopolet Vika. ABV is 8.5%. Pitch black colour, large to moderate brown head. Nice aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, farmhouse, red wine vinegar and various spices. The flavour has notes of red wine vinegar, dark fruits, coffee and loads of spices, some woody notes too. A complex, interesting and unusual beer! |

3766 | Rosita | Spain | Blonde Ale | 2.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 330 ml bottle, as Rosita Original, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo. ABV is 5.5%. Imported to Norway by Moestue Grape Selections AS. According to the Norwegian rear label, this is a spontaneously fermented ale (not sure if that is entirely true), with a secondary fermentation in the bottle. Hazy golden colour, large to low white head, decent lacing. Strong sweetish and "unfresh" aroma, distinct notes of stale marmalade and decaying / rotting fruits. The flavour is somewhat better than the aroma, wheaty and fairly refreshing character with hints of citrus. Won’t buy again though. |

3767 | Herslev Bryghus Oktober Bock | Denmark | Bock | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8 500 bottle, from Vinmonopolet Vika. Batch #461. Unfiltered and unpasteurised. ABV is 7.5%. Hazy amber colour, large off-white head. Sweetish but nice aroma, ripe fruits, malts and some caramel. The flavour is also fruity and malty, medium sweet, with tolerable hops in the finish. The alcohol is not very well hidden, but that’s okay - after all, this IS a bock. Quite enjoyable. |

3768 | Meantime Raspberry Grand Cru | United Kingdom | Fruit Beer | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 330 ml bottle, as Meantime Raspberry Grand Cru, from Vinmonopolet Vika. ABV is 5.5%. Very cloudy peachy to brown colour, large to moderate off-white head with a peachy hue. The aroma has strong notes of ripe and over-ripe raspberries (no surprise). The flavour has also notes of raspberries, but not as much as some Belgian fruit beers, and is not overly sweet. Refreshing wheaty notes, hints of citrus. Nice enough to drink, but not worth the price. |

Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500 ml oval green bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.8%. Deep golden colour, moderate to low white head. Strong aroma of peat smoke / peated malts. The flavour is also dominated by peat smoke and ashes, with just a hint of fruity hops in the background, dry finish. Okay, but one bottle is enough. |

3770 | Chang Beer | Thailand | Pale Lager | 2.6
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 This beer seems to need a split in the BeerPal database - my 330 ml bottle (in France), simply named "Chang Beer", was a typical standard pale lager at 5.0% ABV, and can’t possibly be "the same beer" as a 6.4% "strong lager"??!! Anyhow, my beer pours with a golden colour and a large head. "Neutral" lager flavour, not offensive, moderate sweetness. Okay with a spicy Thai meal. |

3771 | Chang Beer Light | Thailand | Light / Lite Lager | 1.8
Aroma: 3 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 4 330 ml bottle, simply as Chang Beer 4.2%, now in Norwegian grocery stores. Extremely pale yellow colour, nearly colourless. Moderate to low white head. Aroma of baby porridge and grass. The flavour has some sweetish pilsener malts and hints of citrus, making the beer not undrinkable - but this is certainly not something to seek out. |

3772 | Herslev Høst Bryg Hyben | Denmark | Fruit Beer | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Vika. ABV is 6.2%. Orange colour, large off-white head. Strong aroma of of rose hips and wild rose petals, as expected, and some undefined sweetish fruity notes that I am not entirely comfortable with. The flavour is better than the aroma, medium sweet and fruity, rose hips again, moderate but noticeable hops. Fairly drinkable. |

Strong sourish & sweetish aroma with notes of plums, wine vinegar and peaches, also hints of horse stable, oak and farmhouse kitchen. Sweet & sour flavour, notes of peaches, vinegar and oak again. Minimal bitterness, dry finish. Not really my cup of tea. |

3774 | Valdres Staut Jul | Norway | Spiced Beer | 3.5
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 750 ml swingtop bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Despite the name, this is not a stout by any stretch of the mind, but a "Christmas spiced" version of their ordinary Staut, which is listed at RateBeer as a brown ale (English session style porter might be more appropriate). Dark brown colour, moderate off-white head. Moderate aroma of malts and Christmas spices, hints of liquorice. Smooth and soft flavour and mouthfeel - malts, caramel and Christmas spices (incl. cinnamon). |
