December 2020: 500 ml bottle, from Løvbjerg Brønderslev. ABV is 12.3%. Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma of roast malts, chocolate, mild coffee, a hint of vanilla. Moderate carbonation. Distinct roasty flavour, notes of dark bitter chocolate, strong and bitter coffee, liquorice and a hint of vanilla, also substantial bittering hops. Sweet, but the bitterness is dominant. Not perfectly balanced, but impressive.

750 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.5%. Moderately hazy golden colour, large white head. Pleasant aroma of mild spices, stewed yellow fruits and spicy saison yeast. The flavour is not too sweet, fairly refreshing, again with mild spicy notes. Moderate to low bitterness.

500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet Madla. ABV is 6.8%. Reddish brown colour, huge and long lasting off-white to beige head. Aroma of caramel, dark dried fruits, brown sugar and mild spices. Fizzy mouthfeel. Sweet flavour, loads of caramel and spices, not perfectly balanced. Not very strong notes of bourbon and oak.

500 ml bottle, batch #488, from Coop Mega Jærhagen, Klepp. ABV is 4.7%. Slightly hazy and very pale golden colour, moderate to small white head. Distinct "perfumed" aroma of orange peel, chamomile and coriander (leaves rather than seeds). Citric flavour, again with "perfumed" and soapy notes of chamomile and coriander leaves. I am not a big fan of this one. Won't buy again.

March 2021: 500 ml bottle, batch #0266, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Deep golden colour, clear untill the yeast is poured in the end. Small white head. Aroma of yeast and grain, some floral notes. Slightly citric and lagerish mouthfeel (well, it IS a lager). The flavour has first some citric notes, then rather boring grainy notes take over. Low bitterness. Not much here to keep me excited.

April 2021: 500 ml bottle, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Nearly clear deep golden to amber colour, small and thin white head. Aroma of juniper, hints of black crowberries, stale jam, caramel, wort and stale bread. Fizzy and citric mouthfeel. Medium dry and dull flavour, hints of the same elements as the aroma. The juniper and crowberries should have had the potential to make the beer more interesting, but there is too little of them, and too much of not-so-nice grainy and bready elements. Hops are on the ingredients list, but I cannot say they are noticeable. As a result, the beer is utterly forgettable, and I will not buy it again.

August 2019: 500 ml bottle, batch #269, probably from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4.7%. Deep reddish brown colour, large off-white head. Nice aroma of piney and fruity hops, hints of over-ripe red berries. Fruity and malty flavour, notes of citrus, over-ripe red berries and caramel, but not too sweet.

March 2017: On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar (Moor Night), Stavanger. Black colour, moderate tan head. Roasty aroma, notes of mild coffee, hints of chocolate and wood, a whiff of smoke. Smooth mouthfeel. Moderately roasty flavour, medium dry, woody notes, again a whiff of smoke, while a slight fruitiness helps the drinkability. Moderate but noticeable hops in the finish.

August 2017: On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Deep orange colour, large off-white head. Aroma of smoked malts, smoked meat and smoked fish. Slightly dry flavour, with a certain fruitiness that helps the drinkability a lot. Also distinct notes of smoked malts, moderate hops. I might not be the world's biggest fan of smoked beers in general, but this is one I could happily drink again - and again.
