500 ml bottle conditioned, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4.6%. Copper colour, huge head, slightly off-white. Malty and nutty aroma, hints of burnt caramel and brown bread, distinct earthy hops. The flavour is first moderately fruity and nutty, then the earthy hops take over, and dominate throughout. The final bitterness is fairly moderate, though.

500 ml bottle, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4.2%. Golden colour, moderate white head. Aroma of earthy and fruity hops, hints of yellow plums and stewed fruits, hints of pine, some malts too. Flavour of piney hops, some fruity notes, bitter finish.

March 2013: 500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.9%. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Fairly strong aroma of grassy and herbal hops (First Gold), also hints of honey and cinnamon. The flavour has first medium sweet malts with a hint of toffee and mild spices, immediately followed by a distinct hoppy bitterness, becoming quite sharp throughout the long aftertaste.

500 ml bottle, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4.7%. Clear golden colour, large white head. Moderate aroma of earthy and citric hops. Dry flavour of lemon, lime and grapefruit, also some earthy notes, medium bitter finish.

750 ml corked & caged bottle, as De Brabandere 1894 Oak & Hops, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 8.0%. Moderately hazy golden colour, enormous white head, lasts "forever". Pleasant aroma of mild spices, hoppy notes of citrus and tropical fruits, also notes of oak. Moderately sour flavour, notes of brettanomyces and oak, spicy notes, some fruitiness, medium bitter finish.

330 ml stubby bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 12%. Dark reddish brown colour, large to moderate beige head. Aroma of dark dried fruits, caramel, brown kandij sugar syrup, alcohol and mild spices. The flavour is malty sweet but not too much, with the same elements as the aroma. Moderate bittering hops.

750 ml capped and corked bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6.0%. Pale golden colour, huge white head. Aroma of brettanomyces / farmhouse, distinct ginger, a hint of oak. Sour flavour of brettanomyces and lemons, also fairly distinct ginger, hints of oak.

500 ml swingtop bottle, from Vaaland, Bryne. ABV is 4.7%. Crystal clear golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate floral and herbal aroma, some grain and malts in the background. Fairly crisp flavour, floral and herbal notes again, a slight malty residual sweetness, moderate to low bitterness. A decent summer refreshment.

330 ml can, from Vinmonopolet Herbarium. ABV is 6.5%. Hazy brown colour, small white head. Aroma of lactic acid, sour grapes and sour apples. Medium sour and very sweet and fruity flavour, grapes and sugar galore. Drinkable, but not a beer I'll buy again.
