October 2020: 500 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 5.5%. Hazy orange to amber and reddish brown colour, large white head. Aroma of malts, caramel and brown bread, a hint of oak. Well balanced flavour, just the right malty sweetness, moderate but pleasant fruity notes, hints of caramel, brown bread and oak again, moderate hops. Might well buy again

473 ml can, as Toppling Goliath Fresh Batch Series S'mores Pastry Stout, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 10%. Pitch black colour, large and creamy tan head. Aroma of graham crackers, malts, chocolate and marshmallows. Very sweet flavour (despite no lactose) with the same elements, the malts are more roasty and distinct now. The can is for sharing.

Aroma and flavour of candy / sweets, yes: with artificial notes of raspberries, blueberries and bubblegum. Moderately sour. Weird, but not undrinkable.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Moderate beige head. Sweetish aroma of dark kandij sugar syrup, caramel, chocolate and malts. The flavour has a moderate sweetness, not as extreme as the aroma made me fear. Notes of malts, caramel, brown sugar, dark dried fruits and mild spices. *2024: Extremely spicy this year - possibly cloves, allspice and cardamom?

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Opaque yellow colour, large to moderate white head. Aroma and flavour of citrus and tropical fruits. No surprises here - just another good beer from Salikatt, in a style they do well.
