Small sample from bottle, at private Christmas beer tasting. Deep red colour. Aroma and flavour of brettanomyces, oak, sour crab apples, sour cherries and blackcurrants. An interesting contrast to the other winter / Christmas beers we had.

April 2013: 500 ml can, bought in Denmark. ABV is 4.5%. Dark reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Moderate aroma of caramel and brown bread. Caramel and brown bread in the flavour too, quite nice. Very moderate hops, as normal for the style.

473 ml can, from the Norwegian importer. ABV is 5.1%. Slightly hazy golden colour, small white head. Distinct aroma of flowers and honey, hints of ripe yellow plums. Smooth flavour of pale malts and the same elements as the aroma, with a discrete hop bitterness in the finish.

Small sample from can at private Christmas beer tasting. Murky red colour. Aroma and flavour of raspberries, lactose and lactic acid, medium sour and sweet, hints of Christmas spices. Thick mouthfeel. Not really my cup of tea.

Small sample from can at private Christmas beer tasting. Black colour. Aroma and flavour of roast malts, rice pudding, vanilla, chocolate, coconut and red berry sauce. A bit too weird for me, even if 7 Fjell is among my favourite breweries when variety of styles is the matter of the day.

Sample on tap at Cardinal. Black colour, small beige head. Aroma and flavour of sweetish malts, molasses, chocolate and vanilla rum. Nice when you want to satisfy your sweet tooth - if not, pass.

Shared 750 ml bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. Black (or nearly black) colour, beige head. Aroma and flavour of medium roast malts, mild coffee, a slight acidity (which was claimed to be unintentional), blackberries / bramble. Fairly nice beer.
