The beer poured a very dark brown colour with a long lasting light brown head. The aroma was roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, and nuts. The mouthfeel was full bodied, and creamy. The flavour was roasted malt, smoked wood, and hints of coffee. The whisky appears in the finish. I actually enjoyed this one more than the 16 year and 18 year versions. -

The beer poured a translucent red colour with a thin white head and some effervescence. The aroma is strong citrus and tropical fruit, with some hints of malt. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is grapefruit hoppy with caramel and bread mixed in. A very good beer, although the bitter finish was on the 'dry' side. -

I tried this beer on tap on August 12, 2011 at "C'est What" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer was translucent dark gold, with a thin white creamy head. The aroma was grainy malt, some floral hops, and some sweetish notes. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was grassy malts, some milky sweetness, and a yeasty taste. I've generally enjoyed Church-Key brews, but this isn't one I dig all that mightily! -
