2018 Sierra Oktoberfest
General Beer Discussion by BRAD_PEAR
This year Sierra teamed with Weihenstephan Bayerns brew school and claimed world's oldest brewery. While Not up to the level of Weihenstephaner Festbier, it is a Damn Good Oktofest and as in the last 4 years good as you will find this style on this side of the pond. Excellent mouthfeel, balanced flavors, makes you want to drink more unlike the gag reflex ipa produces. Bier is golden like true (current)Oktoberfest, not the brown swill most German breweries, and damn near all stateside breweries produce. 6% abv....sneak up on ya big time. Bottomline, Can't Go Wrong with this brew!

Iowa, Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin allow grocery stores and gas stations to sell beer. In KS and MN they can only sell 3.2abw beer. Not sure about other states.

I happened to buy a sixer of it last week at Target. Solid brew!
Many bottles later...Here in way North Kalifonia this brew is iffy at best. WTF?? Exactly! One is more likely to find a "spoiled" Infected? Heat struck flavor then the grand yeoman brew that started out the season. Similar reports come from Dixie as well. I called Sierra, but so far no feedback. However the local distributor says " not selling like last years"....I hope this is not a harbinger of future Oktoberfest....
