[8)] The price is right, but today's tasting left me a bit skeptical. I drank a cold Rockdale Light straight from the can, after hours of no other drink or any food. I was thirsty! Along with the typical club-soda-flavored-with-beer lightness, there was a noticeable "other" flavor note that wasn't especially enjoyable. Formula Change? or was just I more aware of the off note today?

Comparing today's Mountain Brew Light with Coors Light. http://search.aol.com/aol/video?q=mountain+brew+light+videos&s_it=video-ans&sfVid=true&videoId=0EDDADB7AB9B4148F5DC0EDDADB7AB9B4148F5DC&v_t=na http://search.aol.com/aol/video?q=coors+light+videos+louisiana+beer+reviews&s_it=video-ans&sfVid=true&videoId=C050A3C3332622C4DE91C050A3C3332622C4DE91&v_t=na Chad's review covers ICE, then LIGHT. MBL is now a 3.9% City Brewing alco corn juice. Not the previous 5% Genesee product. 136 calories per 16 oz can. Easy drinkability if you aren't expecting any real beer character. Generic Beers of yesteryear often were like this one. [8)] Coors Light is lighter, bubblier, thinner. Less flavor and less aroma...almost no smell at all. Super easy to drink. 4.2%. 8.5 cal per oz, same as MBL. The 24 oz can isn't currently labeled Silver Bullet. [|)]
Tried two cheap light beers today, but they are really mildly flavored club sodas, imo. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/105/324614/?ba=Jhcooper22 https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/105/324609/?ba=MonkeyPilates Of the two, I prefer the lime but I don't think the pineapple is undrinkable.
[8)] I sorta forgot about Genny Light along the way. Should try it again sometime; is it still a Bland-But-Cheap inoffensive (ie No Off-Tastes) beer? [?] [8)][8)] Beers are known to change behind their labels. Sometimes labels change but the beer stays the same. Sometimes...the way of most integrity, I'd say...beers change label AND formula simultaneously. Good on them! [^]
Bought a 30 of Genny Light. As before, it's good at being blandly inoffensive. At room temp you get a little bit of briefly lingering sourness in the flavor. Nothing off-putting or weird. That's it. ;) Also will comment on Genesee Oktoberfest. My Enthusiast standards don't include this as a "light", but many Microbrew devotees would class it as such. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/302/243458/ jeneric84 Sep 08, 2018 nailed it. :) Plain, OK, nothing extraordinary. Consistent modest bitterness dominates. Not a true Oktoberfest, but drinkable less expensive alternative. I'll drink the ones I have. OK.
:o First...WOW! This may be overkill, but it's a nice price. I'd buy it if I saw it. And, maybe one to stash for posterity? :D https://www.iheart.com/content/2018-10-08-behold-the-new-77-pack-of-beer-from-natural-light/ ---------- I saw Natty Light and Natty Ice for cheap and got some. Natty Daddy was also available; same deal. Been years I guess, but I'm again mixing 50% Ice & 50% Light to make a drinkable 5% abv Natural Beer. There was once such a product I think, but they pulled it. Gourmet quality? No. ;D
Yuengling Light Lager with a new label seems to be the same brew? cited in this thread. The ABV...various links showing the new white 99 calories label, be it bottles or cans...3.2, 3.4, 3.6, 3.8. IMO, the buzz factor indicates less than 3.5. $10.99 per 12 pack bt&d with Tops card. As before, good and more flavorful than most lights. Pricey. 3.7/5 is a fair rating. :)
