100 YEARS AGO....THIS CHRISTMAS EVE....
Non-Beer Discussion by OIZNOP
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p05E_ohaQGk I am sure most of us are familiar with the story, but in it's honor, I thought it fitting to post....Peace on Earth...[^], albeit way to brief....[V]..... also...however you celebrate the season, be it religious or not, you can not deny that this version of this song is just plain tremendous.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eSsWvTqodY When you play it, back off on the volume as it's an old recording probably taken from the old Firestone record album, and the levels are a little hot..... Going to be a busy next couple of days...here's wishing you all a Merry Christmas...and that St. Nick brings you all that you desire, especially if it's beer!...... Cheers Oiz [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]

All praise, all praise, Obama has freed Cuban cigars just now.... Up to $400 can now come back on your next trip there.
[:D] If they let you come back! [8D], but get some of their exceptional (the fine ground, rather than chunky) nougat in the little plywood cartons too. Even better than Greek baklava, which also is la plus belle confiserie. [:p][:p][:p]

That was my first thought.... how about importing? My last Cuban cigars were bought at an Italian store in Kabul, AFG in 2005; none made it home - smoked 'em all there just to avoid the customs nutroll.

Obama would make a trade for me if I got detained in Cuba. I'm all over these Cubans. If only we could all vote for Obama for one more term. Amend the Constitution, I say. Heck, write an executive order to permit it, Sir. It's all about the cigars!
No, I believe its just the more skilled roller using the same blend. If you watch a video of both styles being rolled, you can tell it takes more skill to do the tapered cap or foot.
quote: Originally posted by jlozier I didn't know that. I wonder if the grade of tobacco used is particularly special as well.

Belicoso/Torpedos are what I prefer as I understand the best torcedors are used for the more difficult rolling shape
No, but I just got some of these fire cured MUWATs that use the fire cured tobacco mentioned in those. http://www.cigarsinternational.com/cigars/79532/drew-estate-muwat-kentucky-fire-cured/

Anyone familiar with these? I tried 'em in my teen years. Laughable looking, but memorable for FLAVOR. I don't smoke at all nowadays, so I won't tempt fate by lighting up. [xx(] http://www.finckcigarcompany.com/products/group/category/parodi/
[:)] I see that. Full-flavored for sure is apt. I don't remember Parodis as being especially harsh either. Enjoy!

TUMMMW. (Those Uzis Make My Mouth Water). Too bad the lanceros are all backordered. That sounds like the way to go.

So, after sampling a KFC UZI last night, I like the regular UZIs LOT more than the KFC UZI. The Kentucky fire cured were fine, but not one to keep in my wheelhouse. A good analogy might like a smoked marzen and a standard marzen. I'll take a smoked one from time to time but I'm not buying a case. Same with the KFC MUWAT. Also, just ordered a box of Oliva Series V Melanio after trying one last week. Incredible cigar. Seems like lots of top cigar makers buy tobacco from Oliva. That has to be relevant...
