Non-Beer Discussion by JLOZIER
Any cigar smokers around here? Last weekend I was watching the light shift in the haze along the Pacific Crest with a Punch Bareknuckle in the crook of my finger and a glass of Jubilale in the other hand. It was a damn fine hour-or-so. Any way it got me thinking...any one else around here enjoy the aromatic bliss of a fine cigar? Favorite brands? Types? Shapes? Lengths? Regions? The more I get into this recreation, the more I realize how similar it is to beer. Maybe that is why I like thinking about pairings so much. For Thankgiving, I am looking forward to one of my vintage Rocky Patels and a great barleywine. Any takers?

No, I believe its just the more skilled roller using the same blend. If you watch a video of both styles being rolled, you can tell it takes more skill to do the tapered cap or foot.

Belicoso/Torpedos are what I prefer as I understand the best torcedors are used for the more difficult rolling shape
No, but I just got some of these fire cured MUWATs that use the fire cured tobacco mentioned in those. http://www.cigarsinternational.com/cigars/79532/drew-estate-muwat-kentucky-fire-cured/

Anyone familiar with these? I tried 'em in my teen years. Laughable looking, but memorable for FLAVOR. I don't smoke at all nowadays, so I won't tempt fate by lighting up. [xx(] http://www.finckcigarcompany.com/products/group/category/parodi/
[:)] I see that. Full-flavored for sure is apt. I don't remember Parodis as being especially harsh either. Enjoy!

Obama would make a trade for me if I got detained in Cuba. I'm all over these Cubans. If only we could all vote for Obama for one more term. Amend the Constitution, I say. Heck, write an executive order to permit it, Sir. It's all about the cigars!
TUMMMW. (Those Uzis Make My Mouth Water). Too bad the lanceros are all backordered. That sounds like the way to go.

So, after sampling a KFC UZI last night, I like the regular UZIs LOT more than the KFC UZI. The Kentucky fire cured were fine, but not one to keep in my wheelhouse. A good analogy might like a smoked marzen and a standard marzen. I'll take a smoked one from time to time but I'm not buying a case. Same with the KFC MUWAT. Also, just ordered a box of Oliva Series V Melanio after trying one last week. Incredible cigar. Seems like lots of top cigar makers buy tobacco from Oliva. That has to be relevant...
