Best Beer Bargains In Your Area?
General Beer Discussion by KENDOSURF
[:0] Long ago at Beerpal, I was surprised to learn that MY neck-o'the-woods had the best prices around! In the mid-2000's, Red Dog racks were available for $9.99 before tax + deposit at the nearest gas mart. That's no longer true, but Wally World has Extra Gold racks for $11.97 bt+d. Right now I'm drinking one a those cold cheapies. [:p] Can ya best THAT, Beerpals? [:)][:D][8)]

Back to that store. They've restocked Old Tankard, so I bought a few. Hey, I liked this before...but the formula and/or my tastes have changed since then. Now it seems even better! [;)] Imo it's like they said "Well, this beer is selling, but let's upgrade with more aging to mellow it further..." [:0][8)][:0][?][8)][:0][:o)] DO BEER COMPANIES REALLY DO THAT ??? [?][?][?]

Gotta include Old Tankard in this thread, since 384 oz of this ale is now available for $15.00 bt&d locally. [^] http://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/index.ssf/2016/05/old_tankard_ale_and_beer_histo.html
[:)] I went on an Olde Tyme Beer Run today...a bit north of my usual sources. [8D] Nice Haul! Got bargains on individual bottles/cans from damaged packaging...got some macros never before tried...and a few "novelties", at least from my perspective. Maybe more on that later. For now, howzabout Dog Tag Legacy Lager and Busch Ice? https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/35247/251420/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dv2UnDQmcw8 [8)] I'm not a huge fan of this one, but it's a GOOD brew nevertheless. It's quite far removed from the Erlanger school of American Lager. I'll drink it if it's offered. [;)] ---------------------------------------- Busch Ice is a standard macro go-to in many parts of the country. I knew of it, but I don't think I saw it before today. For $3.99 bt&d for a 16 oz cans sixer, this is OK! [:)] ---------------------------------------- Others yet to be sampled. I'll post if significant. L8r! [:)]
[8D] http://www.narragansettbeer.com/2015/06/crushitlikequint-for-jaws-40th [:)] Recently got my first 30 rack. Rare brew around here, had to drive a ways just to get the 16 oz sixers. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/213/7406/ [:)] Yup, this is GOOD macrobrew. [:(] The downside...it's fully TWICE THE PRICE of https://www.walmart.com/ip/Coors-Extra-Gold-Lager-12-oz-30pk/15681016 in this area. [8)] EXTRA GOLD is a DECENT macro, but not as good as. [^] Gotta go with EXTRA GOLD overall, but 'GANSETT would be worth going for now and then. Both of these brews are better than the typical BMC crowd. [;)]
While getting groceries at Fry's in Mesa, AZ last week, 30-packs (cans) of Miller High Life were on sale for $17.99. Nice price, I thought, as I loaded a couple of these in the buggy. Even the wife didn't give me any grief - gotta keep hydrated with the 48C temps. Then a couple of days later, I saw the same 30's at WalMart, for an even better price, $15.46. My math-challenged mind worked that out to 51.5 cents per can. Outstanding.

I guess my quest for new beers when visiting Dayton/Centerville/Springboro just got a lot more interesting. The things I do for my love of "craft" beer. [8D][;)] I better bring a wad of $1 bills just in case... [:0]

PDX brewers have been talking for a while about something like this and why it hasn't yet popped up in Portland. A city that has as many breweries as it does strip clubs. I expect this won't be the last we hear of this concept.
