Beer ratings....

Website Comments by CHANGEUP45

Question. Are we suppose to rate beers differently now? I always thought that everything other than "overall" was suppose to be rated by style, and overall would refer to how much you actually liked it. Reason I say this is because I had an Upper Canada Light Lager, and considering it was a light beer it was awesome... but nonetheless still a light beer. So I gave it great marks based on style (probably the best light beer I've had but that's not saying much) then I think a 6 overall. My beer page says I rated it a 4.4!?!

Number wise the scale is the same. Your scores indicate a 4.4 just as if you used those same numbers in the old layout.

In Reply To #2 Okay. I just remember there being a score by style and one based on overall. I think it just ranks it by style on our page now. Right? So, you're saying I should continue to review beers that way?

In Reply To #3 As E said, just review it the same way you always did. I always do my in relation to style, but I know some others do not. No matter what kind of rules the site has, people probably not read them, not understand them, or do it the way they prefer. The site no longer shows the two rating numbers because it was confusing for a lot of people. The overal number can still be calculated, but the site only shows the total score for your review (the sum of all 5 attributes divided by 50).

In Reply To #4 Okay. Thanks! I'll keep reviewing them the same way. Besides if I change now, my older ratings wouldn't be quite as acurate.
