MICROBREW vs. CRAFT-BEER...is there a difference?

General Beer Discussion by KENDOSURF

Hey Beerpals! I've drank some nice beers that were microbrews, such as Sierra Nevada's Ruthless Rye IPA. I've also tried some good "craft beers" My question: Am I to believe that Dundee and Michelob Craft Beers are on the same page as, say, Base Camp Brewing Co. & Butternuts Beer and Ale? Opinions REQUIRED! [:D]

I use craft and micro interchangeably. I do say nano for tiny operations.

Just looking at the Mammoth Brewing Real McCoy in my hand, and I noticed the word "handcrafted." Talk about using sale-driven language! A wooden chess piece can be handcrafted. A ceramic vase can be handcrafted. Unless you can make gallons of liquid boil in your hands, your beer is not handcrafted. Sure sounds good though.

It was stellar. My wife absolutely loved it with the Cabernet qualities. On tap too. With local (but WORLD Famous) Benton's Bacon and local Sweetwater Valley Cheese Smoked Gouda pizza. I also had a Yazoo SUE (on tap) that evening right after the Blue Pants brew. Needless to say that it was a very good evening.

Let's get PfoxyJohn to barrel age some Wisconsin Belgian Red. If we pay he just might... I would drive to Wisconsin just for that. Really. I could round up a KY Bourbon or Tennessee Whiskey Barrel for that exbeeriment.

That'd be great, but not gonna mess with Mr. Carey's beer. So,I'm brewing a version (two actually) of my own. Not using TN or KY whiskey though - Door County (Death's Door White Whisky) all the way. If it turns out, I'll save some for you. If it doesn't, you'll never hear about it again...
