Have you searched around for used equipment that could suit your needs? Aside from that you'd want to get cracking on a solid business plan and research the legalities, fees, upfront & anticipated continued costs, road blocks, feasibility, and ultimate time line on finally turning a profit before investing. Nano-breweries seem to be gaining popularity, best of luck and keep us updated on what transpires!

In regards to the business plan, we are basically just going to produce about 150 litres (40 gallons) of beer a weekend, and sell it to "shareholders". Once we have a couple solid recipes we will look at scaling. One of the partners has already started a brewpub once so the licensing etc. shouldn't be too much different. I like the Brew Magic, partly because of the computer that temp controls and times for you, and also because of the simplicity of it all. I am not convinced that we would save money by assembling used equipment with no warranty and then having ship from all over the place... Some brewmagic systems turn up used for about $5000, and disappear fast. They are $7000 new including shipping, and we know we will be getting everything we need...
