What time of day do you eat dinner?
Non-Beer Discussion by PHISHPOND417
Everyone has different eating habits. Some are traditional, some like to eat Spanish time. I currently eat a full-blown dinner no earlier than 9:00pm. That's how it's been since May 1st. My family who I'm living with in Portland likes to eat dinner late. Right now it's 8:49pm PST and we haven't even started cooking yet. It probably won't be at least 10pm until we start chowing down.

when i get home from work...between 6:45-7:45 pm. Usually 6-6:30 on off days.
I know some families that have a set schedule. When my kids were younger, dinner at the family table was an important ritual. Tried for 6 pm, but the time often slipped if I left work late. Some folks continue with the 6 pm target long after the kids no longer need to be in bed by 9. Me? Personally? I eat when I am hungry. I avoid eating right before I go to bed. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack. All that happens between 5 am and 3 am and most days between 7 am and 11 pm. Dinner is between 5 pm and 9 pm and most days around 7 pm. My parents call it supper. They also refer to lunch as dinner if it's eaten at the table. For them and many others, lunch is something one carries to school or work to eat more or less on the run. To each his own. I guess the key idea is that I would not want to eat dinner or even a snack right before going to bed. I don't like too much food in my stomach when I am trying to sleep. So if I go to bed at midnight, dinner at 7 and dessert / snack at 9 is about right. Arrrgh! Why did I write all that when "7 pm" would do?

Mine, too. That's how I grew up. It wasn't until I moved out and "up north" to Birmingham that I changed my meal terminology.
