Poll: Bugs In Beer

Poll Discussion by CLASH

A bug flies or crawls in your beer, you... -Throw the beer out, bugs are gross. -Pick it out and keep drinking. -Pick it out if beer is excellent, otherwise toss. -Pick the bug out and offer beer to a friend. -Eat the bug then chug the beer. This has probably happened to most people who have enjoyed a beverage outdoors or maybe indoors. You look down and there is a fly, lady bug, beetle, small spider etc in your beer. What is your next move? I had smaller less harmful insects in mind. Large hairy spiders and cockroaches do not count. I don't know about you but in that case I'm dumping the beer. [xx(]

I think Rogue will be making a beer from the yeast off a fly's ass.

Save the bug from drowing, identify it and catalogue it, drink the rest of the beer while observing the bugs behavior, check to see if the bug is usually found this time of year and what other species of plant/fungus it is associated with. If it's a true bug, a giant water diving beetle, my i'm obviously letting my beer slide too far down the side of my inner tube...

Toss and keep drinking. As long as it wasn't something the size of a marble or larger. I know it's not rational, but that would bother me.

It's cool, he can have his share. I've got more bottles in the fridge, and I'm fairly certain I can out drink the little bugger. (or maybe I'd try the old switcheroo if my wife is drinking the same beverage)

You live in the south and drink outside in the summer, you'll get a bug occassionally, but I'll be damned if its going to make me abuse alcohol by tossing it. Cheers! Right now 45 minutes from busting out of here, then a quick 88 mile scooter ride to a nice tasty beverage... I have about that long to figure out what I'm having this evening.
And you know from living in the South every once in a while you see some random freaky bug like a 6 inch long thing thats pink/green/blue that has 8 eyes and wings and flys and you go "WTF is that?" I hope nothing like that ends up in my beer!

Size matters. Bigger bug = more of it's nasty-ass surface area touching your beer [:D]

And The Winner is: "Squeeze the bug over the beer, yelling "Spit it out! Spit it out!"

Biologically speaking, 99% of the insect world will not hurt a human when ingested.
