Wild Boar Pale Ale

Beer Discussion by SLOWRUNNER77

BeerPal Notice: This topic was created for discussion of the beer Wild Boar Pale Ale. Dear Lord how old was this beer??? These wild boars seem to be retired. My review notes were not new...but they weren't THAT old! Maybe I should give them props... If this beer was, say, 2 years old, if anything it was better than expected. One more reason to date your bottles :)

uh huh.... This beer has been retired for at least 4 years. Grocery Outlet stores were selling this vile shit for .50 a bottle.

I could be wrong, but I can't imagine my scribble(s) were older than 2011. I suppose they could have been missed...sometimes i put a note in the center console...it's possible i could have missed one a few times when cleaning. Hmmm...

I hope Chris and Garrett are the only two BPs fortunate enough to taste and review this fine elixir. [:D]

Wild Boar Pale Ale was discontinued in September 2007. At least that is when Wild Boar and Goose Island terminated their relationship. My son drank this beer religiously until he was informed it was 'no longer'. I tried it once, it wasn't that great. I have notes in a box somewhere I'll get around to.

Ooooohhhh....Angels Envy? Makes me think of what was on the growler of Indian Wells barrel-aged amber...Lost Abbey calls it the Angels Share...IW called it bourbon sweat. Based on how that beer tasted, they were pretty close.
