blue and silver cans

General Beer Discussion by MATTFUNGUS

It seems to me that one common element of the worst beer list is the high ratio of blue and silver cans. How many bad beers can you name in blue and silver cans? Can you name any that are in blue and silver that are great? Can you give a reason why blue and silver means bad/cheap?

Silver is the color of aluminum. It is also the color of ice. So silver is cheap and cold. Blue is the color of water. Sort of. Well, the only water I have ever seen that was actually BLUE was Tidy Bowl water. There ya go.
LMFAO again!

My own personal theory is that that color of can is more reflective at night. So if you're the kind of guy whose picking up a case every night and tossing them out the side each on your drive home (finishing about a half by the time you get there), you are both marking your territory and making it easier for yourself driving home the next night to stay on the road, cuz of all those little blue and silver marker. Seriously, I did aluminum can collection for 3 summers along a stretch of rural road and if you found one miller blue can, you'd find another 100 ft later and another 100 feet later. Since I was cleaning up the same stretch of road it was like someone was shotgunning them one after another on their way home from wherever. Positive point, they keep those who collect cans happy from kids to the homeless.

If there was such a thing, I would nominate that for BeerPal Quote of the Year 2012. [:D]

Actually it might have to do with the Coefficient of THermal Transmission. Years ago MGD was in a black and gold can. They pulled they can after they found out the the black and gold can caused the beer to warm up way faster than a plain silver can.

This is just out, but I haven't tried it yet. Tennessee just got it this week.
