Innis and Gunn Oak Aged Beer

Beer Discussion by SLOWRUNNER77

BeerPal Notice: This topic was created for discussion of the beer Innis and Gunn Oak Aged Beer. I'm confused. This was brewed by Caledonian, but there's a bunch of Innis & Gunn beers, like this one http://www.beerpal.com/Innis-&-Gunn-Limited-Edition-Oak-Aged-Beer/24916/ that say brewed by Belhaven. [?]

Should probably be fixed, as Flash has made it clear that the beer should not be listed under a brewer, if they are the contract brewer. The brew should have it's own entry with its proprietor, not the contractor (if this is the case).

My uncle works for Innis and Gunn. Innis and Gunn is a brewer without a brewery. They contract out their brews on an individual basis based on market, not on the beer. So it is possible that the same beer brand is brewed at both Greene King (Belhaven's current owner) and Heineken (Caledonia's current owner) for different markets (For example the Original Oak Aged is brewed at the old Caledonia brewery for the Swedish market and at the Belhaven brewery for the North American market). There are plans to brew an actual brewing facility in the future, but the family has been dragging their feet on that plan for years.
