Brewery Discussion by MITCHFORGIE
Well I am breaking the rules, as this is under construction with links from the brewery page, but as it was under construction in 2005 I think I am safe. For reference purposes:

In other news...
How is Creemore Springs Canada's second best brewery with an average review of 3.6? Bizarre?

I like Creemore, compared to a lot of Ontario craft brewers (and I know that Creemore is a MolsonCoors subsidiary now) they have more interesting stuff. I find that too many crft brewers in Ontario go with the same bland golden ale, or the same pale lager. You look at Quebec and you see that both Dieu du Ciel and Unibroue (yes - I know - a subsidiary of the Sapporo macro brewery these days) do a great job on Belgian styles. You look to the west and you see Phillips and Central City making great tasting beers and styles (although Granville Island and Okanagan Springs bring the province down considerably). It is a shame that there are fewer Canadian beerpals than there are Canadian ratebeerians, or Canadian beer advocates, but there are also a lot fewer European beerpals than European ratebeerians as well. It's all in the way you look at things.

I got ichorm started!!!! Working on the architect I work with to get on board soon too. Even on ratebeer I cannot seem to find anyone else really in BC (outside of Van anyways), part of the reason I still have yet to put up a review on ratebeer. Never really looked at beeradvocate....
For a lager brewer, Creemore is excellent compared to many others in this country (Brecknock, Brick, Skeena, Kohler, etc) who tend to lean towards the lager side. The recent hop movement in Ontario (their response to BC) should improve things for Ontario drinkers as they still compete with the Belgian heavy offerings that stem from Quebec.
1) No reason to look at BeerAdvocate (refer to Suds comments here there and everywhere) 2) More Canadian BeerPals can never hurt (we need an infomercial) 3) Drink more Canadian craft beer from a variety of brewers.

I'm not into overly hoppy beers but that seems to be what Ontarions want. I would prefer to see different styles, and preferably easier to get beers instead of the dozens of one offs that are available only at bars that aren't close to me.

We should definately make a canadian beerpal infomercial! I bet beercronic has a couple good ideas for that.

I'm not sure the world is ready for any beer informercials that would come from mmmBeer or beercronic. They would probably be x-rated and be consigned to late night TV.

Jeez man, I thought beercronic and mmmmmmbeer were upstanding citizens of our fine country (and we do need more Canadian BeerPals).
