When is the party? Are all BeerPals invited? What can I bring[^][:D]? Nice rotation.[:)] I'm slooooowwwing down somewhat too. Lack of selection is part of it.

There's still a shelf worth of stuff I haven't tried, but it's either too much for how good I expect it to be, or I just don't expect anything good. I'm still gonna be on the new beer train for a while (at least half the time) but it's gotta be something that captivates me...or something that's cheap. The 2nd half of the Mikkeller Hop series is happenin tonight!

try walking into your local bottle shop- seeing 700+ bottles, and not one new beer.. [B)]

Football season is upon us, so..... Ah, nevermind, we don't get Tenn games often up here, haha.

Its kinda like that isn't it though, that not only does the coin and effort for new loose its appeal in long rhythms, but also that beers start to taste like one another and the subtle differences seem to be lost in obscurity sometimes.

That's definitely what killed me desire to keep writing reviews, they all start to run together. I don't mind beers tasting similar and running together, I'm ok with trying new ones. I just don't think the "search" for the next Nirvana, or significantly greater experience, has that much to yield anymore after 1.5k different brews (at least that's where I hit the wall). I get better experiences going back to the really sound/great ones I've already had that are reasonably gettable. Thus, the reason I don't seek as many out anymore.

One reason to stop searching for Nirvana: you found it.

This is pretty much where I am at. There are at least a dozen new beers I could get around town, but all are $10+ a bottle and I have had enough great stuff to realize it is rarely worth it. Smokestack Boulevards are about my only exception to that anymore. There are so many great 6 packs at $7-9 and bombers at $4-5. I am not going to waste my time chasing the latest and greatest. However, if it is new and cheap, yeah, I am still all over it. Glad my local store lets you single out anything. [8D]
