Long weekend, eh?

Non-Beer Discussion by GEZATRON

What are you all up to? We are packing & cleaning & doing laundry. We are moving Tuesday morning headed to the northeast. It's been a stupid busy weekend so far. Selling furniture, getting stuff together for donations, etc. I'm ready to leave! So, how about you?

Been pretty sweet so far: wife and I flew down to San Francisco on Friday morning, hung out at Fisherman's Wharf, BIG steaks at Morton's for dinner, then beer shopping at Bev Mo and Whole Foods before coming home Saturday afternoon. Weather has been terrific the last four days, quite agreeable for working outside the house and examining the contents of numerous brown bottles.

No stop at City Beer while in the City? BevMo is okay and all but City Beer and Perry's in Livermore is outta control crazy selection good. Heck, even Plumpjack's in Noe Valley in SF is great. Beer Revolution in Oakland is a must stop too. We spent the day Saturday in Oakland at the A's game then a stop by Perry's and...well...trunk full of beer. Traffic was insane though this weekend.

I'm starting to turn on Beer Revolution for all the REALLY old stuff they got in their cooler. I'm not talking days or weeks too old, but months. On hoppy brews. A place like this should know better!

I tried City Beer at 10:00 on Saturday; they don't open until noon, and by then we were heading off to the airport. Should've done my homework, as I could've hit them on Friday afternoon. Next time, I guess.

I usually enjoy their tap list more than anything there, as they don't have anything Perry's or City Beer doesn't carry. But sometimes I'll pick up 5-10 new bottles.
