Afghanistan - going on leave...

Non-Beer Discussion by RAGNAROK

I head for the states in a few days. Should be Boots-on-Ground on the 25th. Very much looking forward to seeing my family again. And drinking beer, of course!!! Not sure my tolerance will allow me to enjoy the higher percentage brews, but I will have plenty of time to imbibe!!! June was a tough month. We lost two Troopers when they stepped on IED's. In July a 500 lb bomb was accidentally dropped on our Patrol Base (PB Hadji Rammudin). 3 ANA (Afghanistan National Army) were killed, 3 ANA wounded, 1 US wounded. Every one else had a concussion to some degree or another. It will be good to get in a vacation and forget this place. I will miss my guys, though. I am on a bird tonite to start my way back to the rear to go on leave. Still have 5 hours or so of daylight left, so anything can still (and usually does) happen. Now all I have to do is see what brews are in Arizona that I have yet to try.....
