I can't edit my reviews....

Website Comments by OIZNOP

Is the reason I can't list my reviews because of this massive database revampment that is going on?....and if so, how much longer will it take??...I need to get into at least one review and make an edit.....or is there another way I can't edit a review that I don't know about? Oiz

In Reply To #1 The database revamp "shouldn't" have caused a problem like this, but I'll have to take a look into it. It always did take a long time and the more reviews you have the longer it takes to load.

I sort of solved the problem now by having it list reviews in order of date instead of by name. This cuts down on processing time a hell of a lot because it had to do a bubble sort using arrays in order to do them by name (because of the way the databases are separated). Unfortunately, this makes it difficult to find an older beer in your list if you want to edit it. The easiest way to get through this for now is if you need to edit an older beer, look up the beer to see the date you reviewed it and then go back to your list and sift through until you get to that date. The new site fixes some of these problems so I don't want to waste time fixing it anymore.

In Reply To #3 Yeah, yesterday I couldn't even list my reviews. It just took forever and eventually timed out before I even got to the list. Everything works fine this morning though.

In Reply To #3 I noticed this Flash...I was able to make the edit that I needed to make...However, a beer showed up on my list that I never heard of let alone reviewed....Ever hear of Triple Toison D Or?.....I went to the web page link it displayed and it turns out this is supposed to be Gulden Carolus.....Not sure where Triple Toison D Or came from....Oh well....Whatever.... In Reply To #4 Nice, I like the sort by date better anyhow. I find it easier to keep track that way.

In Reply To #6 You always could sort by date if youw anted to. "Date" was a link that you could click on to sort by. I think some other columns can be sorted by as well.

In Reply To #7 Yeah I used to do that all the time, having it default to that is very nice.

In Reply To #8 The new site actually already defaults to order by Date. I did it so that it's faster. It's also going to be easier to edit reviews. The beer page will know if you're reviewed the beer already and will fill in the review form with your review so that you can easily edit it and resubmit.
