Psst....ALL IPA is atrocious-pass the word....Aside from those words of wisdom, I am on a run-will suspend Believe and drink and be merry will report in as I go. At the moment I am leaving the the West headed east....thirsty...So....after 1300 miles and most of it RAIN as in RAIN!!!! I am parked in Sturgis ND, where all those slow two cylinder bikes go in the Summer? And what do I find (after passing up Bayern Brewing Pale ale?? Face Fall wheat bock, and Big Sky by the car load)but Boulevard Boss Tom's Bock. Ok as a bock so so, as a Damn Good Ami lager? not yea but hell yes. Not sticky, none of the Glisade off flavors, just decent lager effect and flavor. 6.1 abv-very nice head, would be very worthwhile on tap. Later in this ride, i am going to go to new glarus...ok, I will be Polite! More later> I hope so-the world's ending saturday? Drink up Matties!! I finished the wide ride and headed back towards Wisconsin last Saturday around two pm. I was too late for New Glarus, but the following Sunday the 22nd-I witnessed the edge of the severe weather events of the day. I could not have had better company as the lady I was with is very familiar with the local conditions and with the aid of internet radar and the weather radio, And a home weather station we were on top of the event from the first echo on the radar to the clearing skies after the Event of the day. The Event began with high winds, tornado sirens going off, and over an hour of Continuous thunder. Sky turned purple, then green, wall cloud and rain wrapped meso cyclone with Funnel clouds for good measure. At my site straight line winds of 70 mph. Over the hill in two directions there was over two hundred homes destroyed or damaged During all this I was putting away some awful Schell's Bock and Mai Fest brews. the whole show lasted over 6 hours from start to finish. folks down Joplin way took it on the chin, while up in Minneapolis it was no spring fest either. I am now in Reno and home tomorrow. Made $$ had fun, still on this side of the bars...!
Sounds like fun BP! Enjoy New Glarus....Can't say I'm not jealous.

I'm happy to see the thread is active again. I briefly entertained the idea of attempting to expand this list of brewers from 51 in the US to 256 for countries (and some states / territories) around the globe. I further hoped that the interest would spark an automated solution, similar to how we rank beers. I though it would be fun to rank brewers, especially by region. As a first step in that direction, is there any interest in naming the best Canadian brewers?
I'm hoping our Albertan friends (or beerdog/Chopz) chime in because where I am, getting things out of province is rare, so my 'out of Ontario' selections have been very limited, in several cases being limited to just one brewer per province. For me (so far) - Nova Scotia: Garrison - New Brunswick: Pump House - Quebec: Dieu du Ciel - Ontario: County Durham - Manitoba: Half Pints - Alberta: Big Rock - British Columbia: Cannery - Newfoundland: N/A - Prince Edward Island: N/A - Saskatchewan: N/A

Thanks for the input, Cyrenaica! Of course I also read through the best / worst discussions here: http://www.beerpal.com/forums/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=22 PS--Do you think we should include the 3 Territories or just the 10 Provinces as you have shown them? PSS--I see you corrected my error re: Labrador, thanks for that help, too.
Canada.....eh? Newfoundland - Quidi Vid wins by default because Storm is pretty bad Nova Scotia - My favourite is Propellor, although Garrison and Granite make great beer PEI - never been to Gahan House New Brunswick - Pump House by default because Moosehead is undrinkable (sorry Michale J. Fox) Quebec - Dieu du Ciel, the popular choice, but deserves it Ontario - Publican House Manitoba - Half Pints Saskatchewan - Brecknock Alberta - British Columbia - Rest of Canada - Yukon
