Pat Summitt is by far the scariest person on that list. I'd rather play for Bobby Knight...

... good to hear he was on the good side of badassery. Also good to hear that he's from Detroit, I'd hate to give Tennessee credit for a guy like that.

No Chattanooga is in chain hell, so I'll give you that. What you got in CT anyway, hot dogs?
quote: Originally posted by Cottrell Chattanooga is not one of them. Clash is probably thinking along the lines of Pizza Hut... or Elio's if he's feeling particularly gourmet. Just did a search for Tennessee on serious eat's slice webpage... the page timed out twice. I think I broke the server. [:D]
CT is the birthplace of the hamburger (Louie's Lunch) and New Haven Style Pizza. Louie's Lunch is interesting for the history, but the burgers are just meh. New Haven style pizza is something I grew up on, and I can honestly say I can't think of a better style of pizza anywhere else. When I was in Chicago, I made a point to seek out New Haven style pizza at Piece Brewery and Pizzeria instead of eating the sloppy top-heavy nasty deep dish pizzas. I recently read about a New Haven style pizza joint in Portland, Oregon too... if you've never had it, seek it out on your travels. If you're ever in New Haven, get a mashed potato and bacon pie at BAR, drink Damn Good Stout all night, then cap it off with a trip across the street to Louie's Lunch, carve your name in the wall, eat the original burger cooked in a 100+ year old grill, make fun of the Yale nerds, and then enjoy a coma-like slumber for the next 10-12 hours.
