National League Rookie Of The Year
Non-Beer Discussion by OIZNOP
If Jason Bay does not get this award, I am personally gonna drive to NY and kick the shit out of the a-holes that determine these things....His numbers are so much better than Kahil Greene's, but all I hear on ESPN is Kahil Greene this and Kahil Greene that......BS!....Look at Bay's numbers.....But alas, we lonley Pirate fans never get any respect for our (individual) player achievements because we fail to be competative year after year, and are but a blip on the MLB radar....It's just plain sad....

In Reply To #5 Boo Hiss, Jeer Snear, SC.....you obviously haven't seen Jason Bay play the field....So I have to give you some benefit of the doubt....but that's how it is when the team you play on is non-competative (due to the incompetence of the management both on an off the field).....No wins=No press time, unless we (The Pirates) get our clock's cleaned by the Cubs, then it's headline time on SC!........

In Reply To #6 Well... you are pretty much right. I haven't seen too much of him. A. He plays in the National League. B. The Pirates suck (which you already pointed out). I've seen him on SportsCenter and know about his stats because of fantasy baseball leagues. Greene is out for the year now, so it may have just gotten easier for Bay. Unless of course he hits about .100 the last few weeks, then maybe not.
In Reply To #1 Looks like I don't have to do anything!...It's official Jason Bay voted NL Rookie of the Year 2004....I hope ESPN are chewing on their underwear with disbelief!......Finally some respect for the little people!.....and for a "shit" team that may be (notice I said may be) on the rise sometime soon at a ballpark near you! In Reply To #8 You were right, and I was right. Jalce you were wrong big time. But that doesnt surprise me, Ive read your posts before. Heres to the small market teams. And better yet an award that finally awarded the true Rookie of the year despite his teams performance. Kissmybass

In Reply To #9 Didn't Greene miss the last month or so of the season? And wasn't that guys post PRE injury? My guess is if Greene didn't get hurt and finished out the season he would have won. Fagish long hair and all.

In Reply To #10 Yes his post was pre-injury, but just look at his post and some of his others. How can you not just rip on a guy like that? I still beleive the right guy won no matter if Greene was injured or not. We will never know, and certainly if you cant finish or play more than he did, no go. Not in my book anyways... Kissmybass P.S. Jalce is a Cubs fan? Hes got to be a south-sider tired of the muggings on the way to the new Comisky?

In Reply To #11 The way everything ended, I think the right guy won. Besides, Greene looks like a fairy. My point was that I thought the shortstop with good offensive numbers and gold glove type defense would have won in the end. I haven't seen all the posts by that guy but I'll take your word for it. Be careful ripping on someone in here, you might get blacklisted. Ask Crown.

I dont even think they would black list me if they read this guys post language. F this, F that, F you. You were right about Greene looking like a fairy, if you read my other post reply, I think Bronson Arroya does too.

In Reply To #13 Easssssy on the Bronson Arroyo bashing. He looked rather normal until he decided to go with the corn rows in the second half of the year. Although I don't think that look was for him.
In Reply To #1 With 20/20 hindsight: thank goodness you don't have to drive to NY and kick anyone's ass - it's a long drive from the 'Burgh. Kidding aside, I'm glad Bay got it, and I'd like to say that it should be the level of play that counts and not what team the player is ploaying for - although I realize that this is not alwyas the way things work.
