I got an XM radio for Christmas, and for the past couple of months I've became big fans of their show. Today, they were suspended for 30 day, which kinda pisses me off since they're a major reason I have been using my XM so much. Anyone else fans? Or maybe you hate them? I don't like that they got suspended for laughing at a homeless man who said he wanted to have sex with Condi Rice and punch her in the face. They didn't say it themselves, yet they get suspended. It wasn't really funny what the guy said, but all they did really was laugh about it. When did we become a nation of overly sensitive wusses?

Oh, we've been that for sometime now. [:D] I heard about this and I thought it was stupid. Usually radio stations do stuff like this so they don't lose sponsors. Which makes me wonder, is XM looking into having commercials now? That would suck.

XM 202 (the station the O&A are on) have commercials. The music stations don't, but the comedy and talk stations have commercials.

I'd use a more vulgar term than 'wussies' to describe the state of things in this nation. There's very little room left anymore to make jokes and laugh because someone or some group is going to be offended and lord forbid our feelings get hurt. It'd have been one thing if they were advocating and telling people they should sexaully assault and beat Condi, but it was a crazy homeless dude saying what was going through his crazy head. Ugh...nation of wimpy cry babies. No wonder the empire is crumbling. Also, the drive into work sucked this morning w/o having them to listen to. BBC World News just doesn't make me chuckle like O&A for some reason....

Never heard them. I've heard OF them, but no listen. Much more of a music guy than a talking head guy myself, and if it is talking it's usually sports radio.
I don't listen to them but the way I heard it from another station reporting on it was that the homeless guy was talking about rapeing Condi, the first lady Laura Bush and the Queen of England. Totally classless, I have a problem with that but I would not listen to them either way as I choose not to listen to Stern as well.

The way I see it is rape isnt funny, no matter how you frame it. BUT, these guys were NOT on public airwaves, and from what my lawyer tells me, we still have the 1st Amendment. I thought what they said was disgusting and immature, but thats their job. Also, I dont have satellite radio, so I would never have know if they PUBLIC media hadnt made such a big deal.
It isn't funny at all, but they DIDN'T even say it. Some guest said it, a homeless guy, and they laughed. That was pretty much it. And it wasn't said in a malicious way either. It was an obvious (yet poor) joke.

BUMP! Drinking Games!! Beer Blow Required supplies: beer in bottles, deck of playing cards Place deck of cards on top of an unopened bottle of beer. Players take turns blowing cards off the top of the deck. If an ace is uncovered during a player’s turn, he or she is required to take a drink. The player who blows the last card off of the deck has to drink the beer underneath. Before sharing this game I searched for the right home. I did not see this game mentioned anywhere else and thought this thread was the one to revive.
