In Reply To #1 Nice job! Curious. Do you find yourself ordering, drinking different styles, kinds? Has your taste changed a little?
Thanks for the Congratulations, which I have only just spotted. I seem to have immersed myself in a veritable orgy of beer sampling over the last few weeks/months. This has partly been brought on by the arrival of my baby daughter last year. Prior to that I was quite happily drinking cask beer down my local (Swan in the Rushes, Loughborough, superb pub, like a permanent beer festival, where they really know how to look after their beer). A lot of my drinking is now done at home, I order in from a specialist supplier, who allow me to order a case of twenty or so different bottled beers at a time, hence my recent prolific activity. In reply to Brett, yes I have found this activity has had quite a profound effect on my tastes, I still like what I always did, and still consider some of my original favourites some of the best around, but my horizons have been expanded considerably. Cheers Jon
Apologies to southerncoronas who asked the question on different styles, rather than Brett. As to the availability of cask ales in England (Brett's point), yes there are lots of them, but they're not all good, the ability/desire of the pub to serve the beer properly can vary enormously, but you normally find at least one pub per town/villlage/community, where very good cask beer can be had.
