For every Lithuanian undoubtedly - Arvydas Sabonis (basketball player, do you remember him in Portland Trale Blazers?).
I'm not saying it's gonna survive here, but they'll get a team. With the new Sprint Center and the local backing (called NHL 21, I think) desperately wanting the NHL here, they will get it. We had the Kansas City Scouts for one season in 1975-1976. I was only one year old at the time, so I can't tell you why it failed. And I really don't know how the NHL would play in KC now. I see it as a Pittsburgh or Nashville type franchise. Yeah, we stole the Arena team from New Orleans. Nothing to be proud of.
it would probably be a re-located franchise rather than a new one. and that is entirley possible as even in the "new" nhl, there are still a couple of teams that they figure won't survive. the way owners are, i btand new arena alreday built is a great selling point. didn't you guys have an old I.H.L tean called the kansas city blades in the 80's untill the "i" went tits up

The Blades went under a few years back when the IHL folded. The main issue w/ Hockey in KC, I think, is Kemper Arena which is a horrible venue. I think we'll get an NBA team before an NHL team. I'd prefer NHL. KC is a pretty nice town. No tourists, which is bad, but that's why I like it. As far as favorite athlete, I worshipped Kirby Puckett as a kid, and I still rank him up at the top. I find most athletes now as arrogant with bad attitudes. I'm sure Kirby was the same way, but I didn't realize it when I was 8.
