General Beer Discussion by OIZNOP
We are having a Steelers Destroy New England Dinner on Sunday afternoon over at Mr. & Mrs. Sudsman's house. On the menu are Barbcued Ribs. Probably at least three racks worth, with appetizers. I need a beer pairing. I have Rogues Chocolate Stout and Rogues Santa's Private Reserve Ale chilling in the fridge but something tells me these are not a good match. Can someone give me some suggestions???? Oiz [:D]

You may want to get some Hoegaarrden and Pilsner Urquell for a light and snappy, as well as very refreshing, taste to pair up with the warm weather and it is ideal with Barbecue Deviled Eggs if that is one of your appetizers. Also, maybe some Brooklyn lager for the subtle caramelized flavors with a hint of sweetness which makes this a nice, all-around beer for the entire menu, especially the ribs you are cooking. Furthermore, maybe some Abita Turbodog and maybe Brooklyn brown ale for the smokey flavors which makes this the ultimate beer for the smoked ribs you are preparing. Anything that has been grilled or smoked will pair nicely with amber and brown ales; of your choice of course. Finally, you may want to get some Anchor porter for the hints of coffee and chocolate that offers a full-bodied beer which is a very good choice for a dessert if you are having one. I hope this helps! If I have anymore suggestions I will post them to this thread as well. [:)] Good luck and cheers!!
