Free bottle collection - 200 bottles
Beer Swapping by WISEMAN
I have about 200 bottles I've collected over the last 6 years or so and unfortunately don't have room for them in my new place. They're all empty, from all over the US and overseas, and there are no major breweries (Bud, Miller etc). They're all from the last 6 years. All are in good condition. I just want to give them to a good home. I live in DC and don't want to ship them, so come over and pick them up! If you're interested, let me know at awiseman(at)gmail(dot)com

I hope you did not become a member here just to advertise. To answer your question, that is alot of bottles and I am unable to get them because of space and also because I live in the Deep South. Maybe you will have more luck elsewhere. Oh yea and why not enter your reviews for those 200 different bottles of beer you have collected and I assume have tried, just a thought.
Welcome to BeerPal, wiseman! We're neighbors. I work in DC but live a little south of town. I can not give your bottles the attention they deserve, but I do have a couple of suggestions for you. Yours is a good problem to have--it means you've been able to enjoy a wide variety of quality imbibables! And I think all of us have to cross this "what to do with the bottles?" bridge at some point. Here's my story. First I kept the bottles. Then space became an issue, so I started giving the cool ones to Anning Smith at Shenandoah (have you seen his Wall-o-Beer?). You might try that. But then I regretted not having some souvenir or proof of my conquests, so I started soaking off the labels. That soon turned into a colossal waste of time! Don't go there. Besides, BeerPal contains my ratings, so I can always look at my collection by visiting the vault. So I started taking digital photos of the bottles and labels--much easier to store and display! About that time, we got the ability to upload photos of beers here on the site. Look for a beer that still needs a photo, buy the beer at County Line or Total, post the photo and earn some caps! But then you still have the issue of dealing with the empties. So I joined FreeCycle on Yahoo Groups. You join FreeCycle by geographical area, and there are 750 members in a 6 mile radius of my house. I post a notice and upload some pictures, and the collectors snap up the ones they want, and I recycle the rest. My 2 cents. PS--Don't mind my friend staleyiv. He's usually a bit more congenial about it, but the point is that BeerPal is more like a virtual pub than a bulletin board. Anyway, I hope you find the right home for your bottles. PSS--And again, welcome--we can always use more "wisemans" on the site!

There are three sites that are more known than others. This is one of the three. Many members here are members at other sites and have their reviews on multiple sites. Regardless of which site you choose to enter your reviews on, I hope you will feel free to continue to visit BeerPal. Cheers!

As for beer ratings, I'm trying to decide which site to use, there are about a million.
Proof that we are getting increasingly interconnected via the web... I found this link highlighted on a beer-related bulletin board. Check it out. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/zip/97039709.html Sound familiar? By the way, if you haven't yet discovered craigslist, do yourself a favor and give it a whirl.
What the F@%k, that is unreal. That thread is almost identical to the one on this site. So these fradulant folks pull posts and threads from legitmate sites and then re-post them slightly different so they can scam so one and make some money?? That really SUX! [V]
Someone needs to buy you a beer.... Craig List is basically just a classified, no fradulent things going on. Breathe my man, they ain't doin' no wrong. [8D] And it is a cool site, I've seen very cheap kegerators there, check it out.

Agree it is a fascinating site--genuinely useful on one hand, and disturbingly entertaining on the other. It's people helping people, but not always to the best ends. That it is obviously, purely human is its greatest appeal. All of society's hopes and ills are exposed. If you can open the "best of" forum on a Saturday and stop reading in less than 3 hours, you have more will power than do I. It grips. Speaking of grips, if anyone is in need, look around on craigslist and try to get one. [;)]
