Soft versions, spelled Brezel in Deutsch are far superior to the hard kinds. Depending on the region and the state, the twist are different, and the size varies as well. Fresh out of the oven with butter, they are splendid. I like the sour dough variants of the hard styles as well. Stinky cheese goes very well with beer, of course, and Fin Crisp sour dough crakers work just fine as well.

Yes indeedy I do like pretzels with or without beer. Of all the snack kind of things, I'm guessing maybe these are the least "bad".

Yeah, pretzels are solid. Warm ones especially but any will do. Pizza is always pretty solid with beer. This topic is tough because, at leat for me, different beers go well with different types of food.

Unsalted bridge mix goes very well with many beers. I love cantalope, apples and grapes with sweeter Belgian style beers (dubbels, tripels, goldens....) Hard to go wrong with about any cheese. And pretzels do rock!

i've always liked the hard sourdough or dark bavarian type. soft pretzels are great although i like something dry with a beer. i was having these pumpernickel ones while posting the thread with some HArpoon......pretzels-cheese-beer.....thats a winnning hand

Im not a fan of oversalted commercial hard pretzels, but the soft variety with dipping sauces are awesome! Never really paired them with beer so I must try it!
