Hasn't happened yet. At my current job (data entry...BORING) I've shown up hungover, of course. Class I have show up to drunk (from the night before), but not since freshman year. Never at my old job, something about showing up to coach a kids swim team even hungover seemed questionable. That and I was waking up at a quarter to five every morning, and underage...

I used to work as a janitor for 3 1/2 years at a banquet place in college, and we always closed up the place. So whenever the other janitors and I were the only people left in the building, we'd hit the kegs pretty hard. One night we were done working at 10 PM and stuck around, hanging out in the pub and finished off a keg of Pete's Wicked Mardi Gras (R.I.P.) and left at 3:30 AM, after ordering pizzas there even. We got pretty hammered. That was just one time, but we'd go through a picture or two every Friday or Saturday night we closed. I know the manaagers know we did it, but we did good work and were underpaid. The work sucked, but the job was fun. I haven't done that since I worked there.

Well never "actually" drunk for work but I've shown up still drunk from the night before. A few times when I worked in a bar, I worked 'till 3am, stick around for a few pints and shooters, plus the shooters I drank through-out my shift, next thing you know it's 4:30 and I have to be at my day job for 8:30. The best was almost a year to the date when I went to Montreal with my girlfriend and her friend to see Fear Factory, they wanted to see what my tolerance was like, so between 4:00 and 7:30, they got me something like 8 beers and about 30 shooters, now I did get sick but it was mostly caused by the Sambuca (I can't stand that sh**) So I didn't drink past 7:30 or 8:00pm went to the show which I don't remember much of, past out in the car on the way back to Ottawa, woke up at my girlfriends place at around 9:00am and got ready to go to work, even though I hadn't had a sip of alcohol in 12 hrs, I was still quite drunk. I'm still not sure how I made it through that day, my managers just laughed at me. [}:)]

I've never been drunk at work or even taken a drink at work, but ya gotta love the people I teach with 'cuz they know me very well. For my last birthday 6 of my co-teachers went to a local beer store and they each bought me 6 bottles of different beers to try. So I went home on a nice warm June afternoon with 36 new "friends!"

I had a job a few years ago where I bused and back bused for an expensive restaurant. Now, for normal busing of tables I wouldn't dream of drinking, but back busing was basically just running 60+ lb trays between places. My 16 yr old back took a beating, so the bartender would slip me a few strong screwdrivers and I was good to go. What crappy times...

being in ireland, I now have a story! yes, I know, I haven't been online in about 5 days. I got moved to another office and didn't get internet access until today. I've been dying. Anyway, last thursday night I was staying at the hotel and went to about 3 different places to drink. Before we knew it, it was 2am. I only got 7 hours of sleep in the previous 48, so I wasn't exactly doing myself a favor. I went to bed and woke up 5 hours later for work. I'm convinced that I must not have had all the alcohol through my system when I woke up. I went into work, not feeling that bad, but in need of some sleep. By this point I was already on overtime and only had to work until noon. Well, I only made it about 2 hours. The hangover was kicking in and I could barely situp LOL. I told the guy I was working with what I did that night, so he wasn't surprised and he told me to go home. To make matters worse, it was only the 2nd time I had ever tried driving on the Left side of the road. A woman from my home office, also staying at the hotel, had driven me to the office, and I had never had to drive back from that office before. I don't know how, but I managed to get home and slept almost until it got dark. I wasn't drunk or anything, but i was so stressed out driving 20 minutes in a strange place on the wrong side of the road with 12 hours of sleep in 4 days and a hangover [:p]. Ireland, tis a grand place

Well, I have done it before. I was around 20 years old and worked at Loco's Deli and Pub, which is a big bar and grill chain here in the Southeast. I use to wash the dishes in the back and after the kitchen closed, I would pull my MD 20/20 out of the big fridge in the back and start drinking it. As I washed the dishes, I would get drunker and drunker to a point I had to lean against the wall to stand up so I could proceed to finish the dishes. I had to be at work at 9:00am every morning and sometimes I would drink around two beers before I went into work in hopes of curing the hangover I had from the night before drinking that damn MD 20/20. In those days, I would get a fellow co-worker that was 21 or older to buy me brew and back then and I only drank cans of Miller High life; he would get me a case of that swill every few days. I worked at this place for about six months and three of those months were in the Summer. To say the least, the months I worked there are pretty blurry because of all the damn MD 20/20 I drank and the enormous amount of Miller High Life I consumed. Man, I look back on those days and wonder how the hell I made it through those six months, damn! [xx(]
