A couple questions/feedback

Website Comments by DOULOS31

I don't know if this is possible and I just can't figure out how to do it...but it would be nice if you could get a list of top beers by style. Sometimes I might try something new (stylewise) and want to see what the best beers are of that style. I usually end up just going to top lists and then just looking for beers of that style...but when the Top list is dominated by Belgian ales, IPA's and stout/porters, sometimes it's hard to find the top beers of some of the other styles. Also, something much more minor...if somehow the Polls list would indicate which ones you've already voted on (and not let you vote over and over), that would be helpful. I haven't voted in all the polls and have no idea which ones I've voted on and which ones I haven't and would rather not have to go through all of them again to be sure. And one more, if you search for a beer and type the brewery name (eg, "Rogue") or you go to a brewer's page, you can't sort by rating. What's up with that?

That's definitely on my list of things to do. I never made the list before because the beers were using two different style databases while we approved all the old beers. That finished a couple months ago and I haven't gotten around to making this feature.

Uh oh, the list of polls used to tell you which ones you voted on already. For some reason it doesn't work now! I'll fix it.

Grrrr, I had no idea that the sorting links didn't work on the search form. I wish someone told me earlier!. But I never gave the beer list on the brewery's page the ability to be sorted. Most had so few beers that I didn't want to spend the effort writing to code to sort them. I guess I can do that some day.

If you could make a way to search by state too, that'd be cool. No rush in doing that, but I know I'd find that useful, especially for my upcoming trips. Keep up the great work.

Tip for Dan: If you "add a beer" (don't complete the process) and select USA as the country, then select the state, you will see a list of breweries in that state to choose from. You can use that list to check them out individually in another window on beerpal. Would be great if they were hyperlinked automatically, but it does work. You can also try looking under retailers, since many brewpubs and even breweries are also listed there.
