Memorial Day Weekend

General Beer Discussion by CROWN

Just curious as to what others are going to be sampling this fine (SUNNY!!!!!!) weekend. I've just had a Pug's Ear Brown and I've a got a fridge full of Old Brown Dog's and Bass to look forward to. Cheers.

I admit it -- I swill while working on home improvement projects. This weekend, I'm refinishing wood floors, putting a fresh coat of paint on all my trim/cabinets, and repainting my bedroom and living room, so the Southpaw is calling...I may sneak in a couple homebrews...

Great, you just had to mention weather. Oiz is sensitive about these things [;)] My mom is staying for the weekend and the inlaws and their friend are coming. Most of them don't drink. More for me [:D]

Ahhh my friend, the question is what won't I be sampling this weekend. I started off yesterday with the Stone's IPA and smoked porter along with sly fox instigator doppelbock, middle ages black heart stout, heavyweight sticken jab, and old dominion oak barrell stout. Tonight, I'm starting with a dog fish head aprihop, then moving onto Ommengang 3 Philosophers, and see where the night takes me from there. About 18 different beers to choose from including Gumballhead and Great Divide Double IPA. Ummmm...should be a good weekend!

I will be doing some yard work and planting my hops. Beers will vary. I am clearing out some old stock to make room. Probably nothing new. I have been enjoying Saranacs 12 beers of summer. I particularly like the kolsh and the Pilsner. Todays apres mowing brew was a brick waterloo dark. High end its not but it sure tastes good after mowing.

Flash, that would have been my response even if CR hadn't brought up the sunshine wherever he is! The sun is out right now but I don't expect it to last, plus it's still not warm enough!
