Links: Sign Up to Participate:Sometimes known as Vandervelden brewery after Henri Vandervelden, the owner. At present time one of the smallest lambic brewery in Belgium. It is producing an uncompromisingly traditional lambic, geuze and kriek. Only Oud Beersel Geuze 6% abv, Oud Beersel Kriek 6.5% abv is bottled. Located in Beersel, just south of Brussels, at the heart of lambic country. Dating from 1882, but is still effectively a one-man affair. NOTE: Brewery reported closed in 2003, beers now brewed by Brouwerij F. Boon. After being closed during three years,the Brouwerij Oud Beersel re-opened, revived,on 11/25/2005 with Gert Christiaens and Roland De Bus launching the Bersalis beer. 03/16/2007 - official relaunch of the Oude Geuze and Oude Kriek Oud Beersel. 07/18/2007 - Roland De Bus resigns as general manager. 11/22/2007 - Installation of four mixing tanks for the assemblage of lambic. 10/30/2008 - Investment in a modern barrel cleaning equipment. 07/09/2009 -Launch of the Bersalis Kadet beer. 03/31/2010 Oud Beersel increases its capacity by purchasing five wooden barrels of approximately 45 hl per barrel. 06/01/2010 - First employee joins Oud Beersel as sales representative, Philippe Vemer.
