A dark ale crafted in the spirit of a German Schwarzbier, or "black beer." A blend of German Munich malt, Vienna malt and "huskless" roasted malts give this beer a subtle toastiness without creating a more harsh roasted character.

This is quite a bitter Schwarzbier, which takes something away from the positive attributes that the beer has. One of the 'blacker' American made Scwarzbiers and a great roasted malt character. The flavor has a very bitter finish however which leaves a bad reminder taste afterwards.

Off the tap at J. Clyde in Birmingham. Drawn deep black with no opacity and a thin head. Slightly thin in the mouth as well. Full of roasted malt flavor with a bit of hops and light sweetness to finish.
