Making its return after a few years, we're excited to reintroduce SHEEP'S CROSSING! Keeping its grain bill true to its past counterpart, but tweaking its brew process bringing in some influence from our bigger barrel-aged stout brews, we're stoked with how this batch came out. Directly knocked out into bourbon, rye, and mead barrels; then housed in our cooler for its entire fermentation and lagering stages. A labor of love, this beer was monitored extensively throughout its entire fermentation. Carefully and infrequently adding piloncillo to each barrel keeping its cool fermentation happy, while adding a rich depth to the finished product. For such a robust beer, we're finding this one super easy to drink and enjoy. Vanilla blossom aromas lead into a soft palate with a tasty turbinado-esque, toffee flavor, followed by a little oak note. A fireside beverage through and through, believe us on that one. 11% ABV.

    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9

Pint can pours with a deep dark brown colored body that has deep red mahogany edges and supports a lasting tan head of foam. The modest aroma offers up dark fruity esters, molasses drizzled wood, a bit of smokiness and then a little more dark fruitiness and a sense of booze into the end of the draw. The taste delivers a smooth supple rich mouth feel ushering notes of plums and dates leading to molasses and growing smooth boozy bourbon notes. To midway the molasses brings up a thin spiciness and oak heading into a modestly boozy finish. This is smooth and soft and well integrated. Love it. Great sipper.
