2020 Whiskey Barrel Aged Pecan Pie Thief. We teamed up with Little Miss BBQ to replicate their absolutely insane pecan pies. We start with what is essentially our Pie Thief wheatwine base, just with the addition of roasted midnight wheat in the mash & a touch of lactose. 2020 BA Pecan Pie Thief was aged in a combo of Weller & Widow Jane whiskey barrels for just over 12 months before we conditioned it on 75lbs of smoked pecans & a complimentary amount of Madagascar & Tahitian vanilla beans. These crazy delicious pecans were smoked by Little Miss BBQ over pecan-wood before being introduced to the beer. Utilizing new process techniques we are able to get a much more intense pecan nut character that makes this beer taste more like pecan pie than actual pecan pie. Viscous with complex nuttiness.

Rated Feb. 2021. Pint can pours with dark mahogany colored body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up smooth bourbon and then lesser amounts of fresh pulsing vanilla bean and sweetened nuttiness. The taste delivers smooth supple sweet bourbon likely smoothed and sweetened by copious malts and nuttiness. It picks up murmurs of sweet dark fruity esters like plums and dates midway and into the finish. Above all else a fresh vanilla bean sweetness permeates the experience from beginning to end. Solid holiday sipper. Wow. This is so good. The vanilla fresh and richness takes this to another level.
