Introducing MEAD BARREL AGED PRETTY PAPER, a 5.8% Barrel Aged Lager... A couple of months back we released our very first dark, Czech lager, a T'mave Pivo. When we were canning and kegging that batch back in December we decided to age a bit in some beautiful barrels from Superstition Meadery. The barrels we used originally held a fantastic batch of Lagrimas De Oro, which is a light, off-dry mead. Spending some time in those barrels imparted some lovely and unique characteristics. This one pours a nice mahogany color with notes of dehydrated dark fruit on the nose. On the palate we're getting Brûléed sugar with notes of toffee, candied orange peel, raspberries and nuts. A long finish with a nice, light bitterness. 5.8% abv.
