Bottle conditioned. Very dark brown with a creamy but sparse off-white head. Aroma has chocolate, malts, dark fruits. Taste is the same with a nice hop bitterness in the finish. Smooth and quite full mouthfeel, low carbonation. A very good old dark ale.

Bottle conditioned, 500 ml. Bought at Memorable Cheeses, Ipswich. Very dark brown colour, cloudy (I poured the yeast in). Very low head. Lovely "old" aroma of leather, oak, coffee and dark fruits. Flavour is fruity and vinegary, roast notes. Acidic finish. Not bad.

Had this on a beer engine. Preferred it over the other one I tried, Burton Bridge Tom Sykes Old Ale, but still seemed to have something wrong. I wish I wrote down some of the specifics!
