Three hop varieties - grassy Fuggles, spicy East Kent Goldings and fruity Galena - are combined with roast barley providing a slightly burnt, toasted coffee character. Pours a thick black body with a thick head and some lacing throughout. Great chocolate and roasted grain aromas with a nice earthiness underneath. Excellent flavors with great thick and sweet and coffee like roasted malts and a wonderful chocolate flavor with a great slight earthy hop undertone. Extremely smooth and great going down with no discernible alcohol heat. Excellent beer.

Pours black, small tan head disappears quickly. No lace but leaves a slick coating inside the glass. The smell is malt and chocolate. The taste is yum. Sweet chocolate, hint of peat, black coffee and a touch of licorice. Thick oily mouthfeel. Long lasting aftertaste. Wish I had more.

Pours a jet black with no head to think of. I could strap this one to my head and use it welding. Aroma is fairly mild of dark malts. You can detect the booze in the taste but it not at all overwhelming. A little chocolate and coffee in the taste. Texture is very creamy. Reminds me of a dryer stout. If it wasn't for the outrageous price I would try this one again.

Another that blurs the line between old ale, Scottish ale, imperial porter and imperial stout. Looks like the latter. Smell of charred malt, chocolate Malt balls, a hint of coffee and molasses. Taste has those attributes and a heavy dose of dark fruit that mingles quite nicely with everything else. Bittersweet finish and super smooth. Reminds me of a few foreign stouts like lion or st Ambrose.

This is more like an IPS, but can see how it's a super dark old ale. Lots of chocolate malt in this one...right up my alley! When poured, virtually no head so thought it may be one of those flat-style feels...but has some decent carb to it. Little bit of earthy hop at the end to balance out. Some roasted coffee flavors too. A little pricey, but worth the try.

Aroma has notes of chocolate, roast coffee and caramel. It pours a deep sable with a thick tan head. Scrumptious flavor has chocolate, quality coffee and malt notes plus hints of licorice and caramel. Lip smacking! Thick, smooth mouthfeel has a good amount of fizz and leaves a smoky, slightly sweet finish. You don’t have to be an engineer to appreciate this one.
