Poured from a 64oz growler, opaque black, small thick dark tan head. Aroma is strong dark coffee, sweet vanilla, milk chocolate, burnt grass, and toffee. Starts sweet, with caramel, toffee, chocolate and vanilla, followed by a mix of vanilla extract, dark roast coffee, and dark chocolate. Smoky roasty bitter coffee and sweet vanilla intermingle throughout the experience, and are very well balanced with each other. Finishes slightly dry, with lingering coffee and vanilla. Very nice beer, one of my favorite non-IPAs from Willimantic Brewing.
