Pours a somewhat transparent chestnut with a fine-bubbled light tan head. Aroma has malty, hoppy, earthy and cloves notes. Flavor delights the palate, sending earthy, woody hop, malty, clove and subtle horehound notes dancing across the tongue. Mouthfeel is fairly firm and tingly. Should keep you warm whether you,re in Georgia or Oregon.

Decent beer, has a bit of everything, good hop character, good roast without being overdone, smooth, nice looking clear brown, frothy head. Good beer flavor.

Got a free bottle at the Brew’s Best Beer Fest on my trip to Vegas. Pours a clean copper with a big warm cap that stays a while and leaves decent lacing. The nose is pretty hoppy (like an IPA) with the caramel malt. Very nice smooth and silky mouthfeel. The taste is very well-blended with the hop, biscuit, caramel and roasted malts. A little fruit comes in the aftertaste. A pretty nice winter warmer that is different (expecting cinnamon - but none is found, lots of hop though).

This beer is a winter seasonal, without the spiciness of an English Christmas Ale, or a finely spiced Belgian. A cloudy amber pour with a white head. Aroma is caramel and citrus, not very Christmasy. Flavour is very sweet with a hoppy finish.

I sampled this beer and the Widmer Drifter pale ale tonight and definitely liked this one over the latter. Had a nice amber red color. Great hops to this one that lingered in the end without being too bitter. Balanced with caramel sweetness up front. Body was filling as would be expected by a winter ale. Fairly drinkable for the alcohol content.

Review from old notes:
Aroma is light biscuity/doughy malts, nice grapefruit hop...slight honey too. Flavor has a nice grapefruit snap to it, cereal-like malts with a really light toasted grain note. Mouthfeel slightly tingly with a nice smooth finish. -

A very good offering in the seasonal catagory. Piney and slightly floral without being obnoxiously spicey. Medium amber color with a slight head. A warming beer for a cold night.

It pours out a dark amber & burnt orange with dimpled light-tan head and some lace. Fragrant aroma of carmelized malts, rich hops, pine, grapefruit, light berry, and spicy. The mouthfeel is smooth, rich, and full-bodied. Flavors of caramelized malts, light hops, grapefruit, some breadiness, and spices. Excellent brew!

WOW what a suprize from a low priced Ale! Didnt expect a full flavor winter taste. Full of hops and spices. Avery good winter. Puors a dark amber, with a thin head. Smells sweet, with cituris hops. Mouth feel Ok. The taste of hops and spices. A second try this time from a forced draught. Much better than the bottle. Lacing with every swallow. Much spicer. More floral hints. This one is a must have for the season!

I was expecting something a little darker and heavier but this turned out more like an IPA than a winter beer. Hoppy in aroma and flavor, some spice and malts show up in the taste. It leans toward the skunky side but it was tolerable. An o.k. brew.
