A strong, complex dark beer in the 18th century style that was brewed for export to the Russian court. It has plenty of malt character with low levels of carbonation and huge roasted chocolate and burnt malt flavours. Best served with a little warmth. As it can be both sweet and bitter and always full bodied we suggest choosing a similar route with your food. For cheeses go with a robust farmhouse, crumbly blue or strong goats cheese. For mains go with red meat or game, a well marbled rib eye or even a full fat burger compliment this stout really well. You have lots of options for dessert from chocolate brownies to tiramisu and coffee cake or espresso ice cream. Even apple or pecan pie and cheesecake go majestically with this bottled beer. Available in the 750 ml bottle as an alternative to good quality wine, designed to be shared while enjoying a good meal.
