This reminds me of a Belgian style beer. It smells like a fruit bowl just a tad sweet. The color is a deep rich gold and brown almost orange. That pours a thick head that lasts a long time. The taste is full of flavor and thick in mouthfeel. Very smooth with zero bitterness. The ABV is there but is hidden by the taste.

Normally have enjoyed Weyerbacher beers but not this one. Appearance sucks, aroma is weak. I like the flavour but expected more from such a high abv. Mouthfeel light for the style. Gone and forgotten.

What a big, boozy malt bomb. Dark amber pour with a thin tan head. Aroma starts off sweet--toffee, caramel, raisins and alcohol. Taste is much the same but keeps getting sweeter as it warms, to the point of cloying.

pours a cloudy red-brown with medium sized dense head that refuses to dissipate, although when it finally does it leaves next to nothing behind in the way of lacing. The aroma is sweet, jammy, toasted bread, bing cherry, concord grape. Swirling brings out a more robust toasty aroma along with a bit of booze and vanilla. The taste is sweet, brandylike fruity at the first sip, as this fades, there's dark toast and some herbal floral character comes out. As it warms, more fruity peach/plum/cherry flavor makes itself known, nice. The mouthfeel is full bodied, with sticky, mild carbonation.

Good beer....but slightly lacking for a barleywine. Thinking that some aging may help here. Alcohol is not hidden that well like some others in this style. Makes the mouthfeel a little heavy and harsh. Also a tad too sweet. Maybe more like a strong ale? Haven't had anything to rave about yet from this brewer.

fruity, golden raisin boozy aroma that gets quite pleasant as it warms. smooth, but abv is evident. flavor mostly sweet. no balance, but lots of complexity and quite tasty. a very nice sipper. do yourself a favor and drink it close to room temp.

Aroma is not strong but is pleasantly malty with hints of apple brandy and caramel. It pours a clear, dark mahogany with a thin and not too persistent head. Flavor is somewhat malty with touches of caramel and cloves and a strong but not overwhelming brandy-like bite. Texture is smooth, a little edgy and hardly fizzy.

It might be difficult to complete this review as I blither through it. A translucent reddish colored body, with an orange tint. The soapy white head is small, disappearing quickly. Left behind is a disappointingly faint soapy ring. A subtle sweet malt with an overpowering alcohol ester rises to the nose. The body has a little more than water and it is smooth on the palate. The taste is alcohol, some sweet malt and citrus hops are blinking through the raisins and cherries left on the palate. Drinkability? Yes. The best representation of an English Barleywine? No.

Clear amber color with a off-white head that settles down to small patches and a thin ring around the glass. Aroma is caramel, woody with some alcohol surfacing. Much of the same in the flavor with the addition of sweet malts, toffee and some spiciness. Some alcohol shows towards the finish, although not as alcoholic as I was expecting. A solid barleywine.
