Poured a suspended-particle cloudy amber, with just a wisp of a white head. A robust malty aroma of caramel, with hints of spice and honey. Assertive and full-bodied with a rich, sweet, toffee-flavored maltiness and no hint of hops. The finish is smooth and warm. This is a fine Wisconsin-brewed version of a German Doppelbock, albeit just a tad thinner, tamer, and less spicy than many of the -ator monsters.
