The pilsner is brewed to a classic European recipe using 100% New Zealand malt and Saaz hops. This gives it a traditional hop bitterness, flavour and aroma of a true pilsner. An authentic Czech pilsner yeast was selected for its ability to ferment at very low temperatures to produce low levels of esters and other by-products while enhancing the malt perception and allowing the clean crisp bitterness to show in the foreground. A full strength beer with 5% alc/vol.

Sampled on 10/1/2010. This pilsner pours a slightly hazy medium orange gold color from a 33cl bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is cereal, grain and floral hops. A medium bodied pilsner. The malts are cereal and grainy. The hops are floral and slightly spicy. Decent carbonation. Nice balance. Finishes a little sweet, and a little bit off that sharp pilsner bite, but very drinkable. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and sweet. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
