When you call something "old school", it's usually because it's original or a classic. That is exactly why we've named this beer Old School Stout, because it's our interpretation of a classic dry stout. The word stout originally meant "proud" or "brave" but after the 14th century it took on the connotation of "strong". While our Old School Stout isn't exactly strong in alcohol (5.5% ABV), it is very much a rich full bodied Ale dominated by chocolate and roasted malt flavours and very well balanced. Dry stouts achieve a dry-roasted character through the use of roasted barley, just one of the six malts in our Old School Stout recipe. A subtle bitterness leads to a long creamy finish on this aphotic beauty. Hops: Perle, Golding Malt: Pale, Roast Barley, Crystal, Chocolate, Munich, Wheat Notes: Well balanced with pronounced chocolate and roasted malt flavours. Food Pairing: Sharp cheddar, Raw oysters, Beef stew, Dark chocolate

The beer pours a solid black with a creamy thick brown head. The head doesn't last and is quickly reduced to a thin creamy film. The aroma is roasted malt, smoked wood, coffee, and dark chocolate. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is bitter coffee, roasted malt, and dark chocolate. Avery good simple stout.

Pours a fairly large frothy, creamy looking tan head and has dark brown appearance with ruby highlights. Thick lacing. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate and earthy hops. Flavours are quite malty, lots of dark roasted malts, chocolate and cocoa notes. Good retention and average carbonation. Nice and smooth creamy mouthfeel.

Pours a real dark brown colour with a big creamy mocha head, very long lasting with some nice lacing. Nice coffee aromas over the burnt malt and smooth vanilla hints. The taste is pretty much roasted malts, hence the name "Old school" which makes sense. Nice lingering burnt flavours on the tongue with some dryness in the finish. A very nice typical stout that goes down very nicely and smooth.

Nice appearance. Head sticks around and leaves decent lacing. Milk chocolate and coffee aroma. Milk chocolate. cocoa, some coffee, smoke, and vanilla. Ok stout. think this would be great on draught.
